Nissan Lafesta

6 Feb

According to Paul Tan, Mazda has agree to supply its Premacy MPV to Nissan from May this year for sale in Japan. Paul also mentioned Nissan’s version of the Premacy will be clearly differentiated to Mazda’s. Perhaps new sheet metal (sans the Nagare-flow design on the side doors) and revise front fascia, as in my impressions?

The current Lafesta has been around since 2004. And with no replacement in plan, perhaps the Mazda Premacy will serve as the new Lafesta. I do however wonder why doesn’t Nissan rebadge the Renault Scenic instead? Cost?

Removing the horrid Mazda swirls makes a HUGE improvement. Very nice work.

The front taken from the Qashqai which is a nice touch, but the lower front bumper don’t look so fitting. The rear looked a bit more sporty and are the rear lights raised higher? Anyway, for some reasons the rear shot of the car reminds me of the older generation Estima!

The Renault Scenic is as big s the Mazda 5/Premacy, but I think the Mazda is more practic than the French.

maybe the cost to re badge the scenic is more expansive than the premacy. technology maybe…
and one thing, i also heard that infiniti want to sell it’s M to mitsu… the panning was to rebadge the M(fuga) to become a D segment Mitsubishi… What about theo you do the work…

The back still looks very Mazdaish with the point in the centre of the rear window.
