Toyota has reportedly decided that reviving the somewhat homely two-door isn’t worth doing. Last August, Toyota made a last-ditch effort to save the Solara convertible from extinction, but it was apparently a short-lived stay of execution. The droptop was put back on hiatus in December when the automotive downturn hit full force.

So if they didn’t put the Solara to sleep last December, could it look like my renderings?

I have ALWAYS traded my car in every 2 years….until i owned my 2006 Solara. I still have it and it is almost 7 years old..the only reason I hang on to it is because there is nothing out there that I like better. I was so disappointed when they did not come out with a new solara. BEST car I have ever owned.

I was going to buy a Mercedes CLK 350 but now I’ll wait to see if Toyota builds this.
I will surely buy one if they do. It’s gorgeous.
